● Miss V & Ms. V School of Dance University
A Day at MVaMVSoDU
At Miss V & Ms. V School of Dance University (MVaMVSoDU), every day is a new opportunity to stand out.
Begin your day with diva breakfast (fridge cigarette) and a pep talk in the mirror while applying your boldest lipstick.
Then, move (with purpose) through a mix of technique classes, site-specific errand running, and unstructured time (this is where the magic happens). We find that allowing unstructured moments provides our students ample time to make mistakes and cause drama, thereby yielding navel-gazing art (our favorite!). This time also creates the illusion of student agency.
Night after glorious night, students gather to watch past performances of University founders Miss V & Ms. V. Evenings can also be used for PowerPoint presentations, one-woman shows, and field trips to The Met. Under no circumstances should they be used for contact improv jams.

What Not to Wear
A t-shirt with an American flag bikini on it, for starters.
If it doesn’t have sequins, fringe, lace, leopard print, or feathers…we are wondering why you’d own it in the first place.
Every outfit should “say something.” Ideally, that something would be “I’m a serious artist, and I understand that fabric draping, power clashing, beading, and shoulder pads are tools I have at my disposal.”
